Phase 1 is the most important phase — and the one most often skipped by inexperienced developers. Before any capital is committed, sun2X delivers a complete, bankable planning report that answers three questions: Is this project technically feasible at this site? Is it financially attractive for this client? And what is the optimal system configuration to maximise return?
The Phase 1 deliverable is the foundation for board approval, EDB financing applications and long-term project structuring. It is also the document that protects the client from the most common and expensive mistake in UAE renewable energy: ordering equipment before confirming DEWA grid capacity.

Feasibility & Business Case
The feasibility study is sun2X's most comprehensive planning deliverable. It combines physical site assessment with financial modelling to produce a document that clients can take directly to their board or to the Emirates Development Bank.

Phase Two
Approvals & Execution
From approved business case to energised system
Phase 2 is the longest and most complex phase — covering four of the six steps and spanning approximately 38 weeks. It begins the moment the client approves the business case and sun2X submits the grid study to DEWA. It ends with a commissioned, energised, DEWA-approved system ready for handover.
Step 02 — 10 Weeks
DEWA/ADDC Approval & Letter of Credit
The Letter of Credit (LOC) from DEWA, ADDC or SEWA confirms the available grid capacity and connection terms for the project. Without the LOC, no equipment can be specified or ordered — because the LOC defines the allowable system size, protection relay requirements and meter type.
Grid Study Submission
Load-flow and fault-level analysis submitted to the relevant utility. Documents the site's existing consumption, proposed new loads (solar, battery, EV) and grid impact.
Protection Design Review
UAE mandates IEC 61727-compliant interface protection with auto-disconnect on grid fault. For systems above 200 kW, a full protection co-ordination study is required.
Authority NOC — DM / Trakhees / Tanweer
Dubai Municipality (mainland), Trakhees (JAFZA), Tanweer (Abu Dhabi). The full permit pack involves 18–24 documents. sun2X tracks all submissions and re-submissions.

Engineering & Procurement
Once the LOC is issued, detailed engineering drawings are prepared and equipment is ordered. sun2X specifies only components validated for UAE desert conditions — this is where the Tier-1 automotive industry background matters most.

Step 04 — 12 Weeks
Installation — The UAE Summer Plan
Installation is the most visible phase — and the one most affected by UAE-specific conditions. UAE Labour Law restricts outdoor work between 12:30 and 15:00 from June to September. For large rooftop and cabling projects, night-shift installation is therefore mandatory during summer, adding approximately 15% to labour cost but allowing year-round project delivery.

Only after this test — and the formal issue of the No-Objection Certificate — does the system go live and Shams Dubai net metering credits begin.

Phase 3 is where the project transitions from a construction project to a revenue-generating asset.
